In April, I had the opportunity to meet some friends from the internet! I've been corresponding with the Bolton Girls for over five years now- wow! When they came to New York City before their cruise, our families met up to visit the American Museum of Natural History. It's one of my favorite places to explore. Of course, we visited the dinosaurs first.
The Bolton Girls are a lot of fun. Four of them came on this trip, and we all had a great time. It must be fun to live in such a large, rambunctious family! Between the four of them, the Bolton Girls knew almost everything about all the dinosaurs. I just had to sit back and relax and they explained everything to me.
Look at this giant tortoise! Can you believe that a tortoise that big walked the Earth, so long ago? There were many other turtles as well. I decided sea turtles are my favorite kind. Do you like turtles?
After the dinosaurs, we headed to the hall of ancient mammals. I had been there with Katia in February, so I was a bit more prepared to be a host. I had the best time with Taryn especially. She just seemed to understand me so well!
At the end of the day, we all gathered under this mammoth for one last photo. I hugged all the girls good-bye as I left to catch the subway home to my house with my parents. It was so fun to meet friends from the west, but it is always so difficult to say good-bye, not knowing when you'll see one another again.
Have you ever met a friend from out of town? How do you keep in touch?
